Look for consistent information
Compare the project description, named company, website and contact address. If someone claims to represent an agency, use independently found contact details to ask about the request. A sparse website is a reason to ask questions, not proof that a contact is dishonest.
Ask about the actual process
Clarify what material is needed, who reviews it and what the next step would be. Be cautious about pressure to act immediately or requests unrelated to the role. If you are uncomfortable, pause before sending additional information or travelling to a meeting.
Share a focused version
Remove details the recipient does not need from your VIPCasting portfolio. Choose a PDF or optional hosted presentation according to the situation. Even a PIN-protected Casting Room cannot prevent copying; share only material you are comfortable putting in that recipient’s hands.
